The 8 Days Gorilla & Wildlife Safari begins at Entebbe International Airport to Kibale Forest National Park via Fort Portal, Queen Elizabeth National Park and Bwindi Forest National Park.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up at Entebbe Airport
On arrival at the Entebbe International Airport, you are picked up by a company driver guide who transfers you to your Hotel in Kampala. In case you still have time you can transfer on a City Tour around Kampala visiting the Uganda Museum, Kasubi Tombs and Namirembe Cathedral. After your Tour, check-in your lodge/ hotel for Dinner and Overnight. Hotel Africana, Speke Hotel, Serena Hotel.
Day 2: Transfer to Kibale National Park
Wake up very early in the morning and have your breakfast then after wards embark on your 5-6 hours long drive to Kibale Forest National Park through Fort Portal. En-route have lunch then proceed on your journey. Reach in the evening and when you get here check-in your lodge/ hotel. Ndali lodge, Rwenzori view Guest house, Primate Lodge Kibale.
Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest National Park
Wake up have breakfast then transfer to the Park headquarters for briefing about the Dos and Don'ts around the chimpanzees in their natural habitat then later in groups with a skilled park ranger guide, penetrate the forest to track the Chimpanzees for 2-4 hours and when you meet them take numerous photos to keep for memories. En-route watch various other primates like the white and black colobus monkeys, Mangabeys and birds. After tracking, transfer back to your lodge/ hotel for Dinner and Overnight. Day 4: Nature walks at Queen Elizabeth National Park
Wake up early in the morning have your breakfast then afterwards leave for a guided nature walk along the various nature trails in Queen Elizabeth National Park and these offer you views of monkeys, birds and some wildlife animals. After the Nature walk, transfer to check-in your lodge/ hotel for Dinner and Overnight. Mweya Safari Lodge, Tembo Safari Lodge, Jacana Lodge.
Day 5: Game drive and Boat cruise
Rise up very early in the morning before 7 am and have breakfast and then move into the park for wildlife safaris game drive.
This early morning drive will enable you to catch a glimpse of some animals returning to their dens from their night preys. Such animals will include the big five [elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes], hyenas, warthogs, alibi, silver buck etc. After the wildlife safaris, you will move to the hotel for lunch and refreshments.
In the evening go for boat cruise along the Kazinga channel which connects lakes George and Edward and then afterwards return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Meals are F/B
Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park
Wake up very early in the morning and embark on the long drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park through the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth NP known as Ishasha having lunch at Ishasha River. Move into Gorilla Resort [mid range] or Buhoma Community Bandas [budget].Meals are on FB.
Day 7: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest National Park
After a morning heavy breakfast and with packed lunch you will transfer to the park offices for briefing and then later on at 9:00 am commence the gorilla trek along the tracks in the thick forest searching for these great apes. Depending on the movement of these humble giants the trek might take between 2-9 hours before you encounter the Gorillas. Though the walk is tiresome meeting these great apes and spending some time with them while looking deep into their expressive brown eyes, is an exhilarating and heartbreaking wildlife encounter that Africa has to offer. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Departure to Kampala
Wake up have breakfast then with your luggage transfer to Kampala or the Entebbe International Airport to board your flight back home.
