The 6 Days Uganda Primate Safari takes you Chimpanzee Tracking in Uganda’s Kibale Forest National Park and Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest National Park.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival-Pick Up

Upon your arrival into Uganda at Entebbe, you will be picked up by our company driver guide who will transfer you to your hotel in Kampala for Dinner and Overnight. Sheraton Hotel Kampala, Cassia Lodge Buziga, Hotel Triangle.

Day 2: Transfer-Kibale Forest National Park

After your break fast, your driver guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala and drive you towards Kibale Forest National Park in Fort portal via Mubende. When you get there, you will transfer to your lodge/ hotel for Dinner and Overnight. Primates lodge Kibale, Chimpanzee Guest house, Ndali Lodge.

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking-Kibale Forest National Park

Primate Tracking UgandaAfter your breakfast head to the park headquarters and receive a briefing from the UWA official about the chimpanzee tracking code of conduct before you set off to the forest for the adventurous tracking experience.

You will be rewarded with sighting of other primates during the tracking. Possible sightings may include Monkeys, like the blue monkey, red-tailed monkey, red-colobus monkey. Return to the lodge for your lunch after the adventuring forest encounter.

After your lunch take pleasure in the spectacular walk at Bigodi swamp that is protected by the Bigodi wetland sanctuary and discover the dominant habitants (birds). Dinner and over night at Primates lodge Kibale, Chimpanzee Guest house, Ndali Lodge.

Day 4: Transfer-Bwindi Forest National Park

After your breakfast, hit the road for Bwindi Forest National Park with a lunch stopover en-route. Drive via the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park and you may possibly spot tree climbing lions as they rest in fig trees. Other possible sightings include Cape buffalo, antelopes, and wart hog among others. Have dinner and an overnight stay at Gorilla Resort, Buhoma Lodge, Buhoma Community Rest Camp.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking-Bwindi Forest National Park

You will head to the park head quarters after your break fast and be briefed about the gorilla trackers code of conduct before your guide takes you through the tracking in the misty forest with your packed lunch. You will track the Gorillas for 3-5 hours in groups of 8 and when you meet them, only an hour is allowed to stay in their presence taking various photos to keep for memories. After trekking, you will proceed back to your lodge for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Gorilla Resort, Buhoma Lodge, Buhoma Community Rest Camp.

Day 6: Depart-Kampala

Drive back to Kampala with a stop over at the equator in Kayabwe for souvenir shopping and memorable photography with a lunch stop over en-route.  Reach Kampala late evening.
