Detailed Itinerary of the 7 Days Uganda Wildlife & Bwindi Gorilla Safari

Day 1: Arrival and Pick up 

Upon your arrival, you will be welcomed by Ultimate Gorilla Expeditions  driver guide for a transfer to your hotel in Kampala. Have your dinner and an over night stay at Cassia Lodge/ Sheraton Hotel.

Day 2: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Our company driver guide will pick you from your hotel after your breakfast for a gentle drive to the southbound road to the western part of Uganda. Have a detour to Lake Mburo National park and enjoy the evening birding with views of special birds that may include Red faced barbet, Tabora Cisticola, Green backed woodpecker, Coqui francolin among others. Dinner and an overnight stay at Rwonyo camp/Arcadia cottages/Mantana luxury tented camp.

Day 3: Transfer to Mgahinga National Park

After your breakfast hit the road for Mgahinga and enjoy natural scenery sightings in Kisoro with a drive through the bamboo and montane forest of the Echuya reserve with splenderous views of the north to the Virungas from the elevated Kanaba Gap. Dinner and overnight at Mgahinga Safari Lodge and Travelers’ Rest Hotel / Kisoro tourist Hotel     

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga National Park

Report to the park headquarters after your breakfast where you will be taken through a briefing session about the tracking code of conduct. Thereafter you will be guided through the undergrowth parting thick creepers in the adventurous experience of tracking the Nyakagezi gorilla group that consist of 9 members; 3 adult females, 2 silver backs, 2 juveniles and 2 infants.
Encounter an astonishing sensation as you listen to the mountain gorillas grumbling to each other in the dense rainforest. You can take an optional birding adventure along the edge of the park in the evening as you familiarize your stay in the smallest but scenic park in Uganda. Possible sightings may include the Ibis, Whydah, Speckled Mouse bird, and Fire Finch, Stonechat, Grey Capped Warbler and the Waxbills among others. Return for dinner and an overnight stay at Mgahinga Safari Lodge and Travelers’ Rest Hotel / Mount Gahinga Rest Camp.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park

Transfer to the impenetrable Bwindi after your break fast. Enjoy sightings of the rich birdlife, flora and fauna of the park, dinner and overnight at Gorilla Resort/Lake Kitandara /Buhoma community Bandas.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking Bwindi Forest National Park   

This morning, head for the most stimulating adventure “gorilla tracking” after your break fast. Proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing session about the tracking code of conduct from a UWA official; you will set off with your packed lunch.
Later in the day, you will take a guided village walk and explore the indigenous Batwa Community ways of life. Return to Gorilla Resort/Lake Kitandara /Buhoma community Bandas for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7: Departure to Kampala

After your breakfast leave the park and travel back to Kampala with an en-route lunch stopover.
