Trip Overview

The 20 Days Uganda Cultural Safari Tour takes you to Entebbe Botanical Gardens, Kasubi Tombs, Naggalabi Coronation Site, Katereke Prison Ditch, Kyabazinga’s Palace, Tororo Rock Hill, Karuzika Palace, Karambi Royal Tombs, Kyambura Gorge, Kibale Forest Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 1: Arrival-Pick up

Upon your arrival, you will be picked from the Entebbe International Airport by our company driver guide for a transfer to your Hotel. For early arrivals, embark on birding adventure in the Entebbe Botanical Gardens were you will be rewarded with sightings of various birdlife. Time allowing you will drive to the Uganda wildlife education centre (UWEC) that is known for hosting over 170 species of wild birds. Possible sightings on this tour may include the 5 species of flycatchers which include the Crested shrike flycatcher, Lead colored, Swamp flycatcher, African paradise Red bellied besides the weavers that include the rare Northern Masked Weaver, Black Necked, Golden Backed, Northern Brown Throated, Grosbeak, Baglafect ,and  raptors such as the Gabar Goshawk, small banded snake Eagle, Shikra, African Goshawk, African Fish Eagle, African Hobby. A visit to the sewage lagoons will be a good ending spot for the first day birding experience. Alternatively this can be carried out the next day. Day 2: Transfer-Kampala

This morning after your breakfast, you will be picked from your hotel and set off for the Uganda’s capital city tour. You will have enroute stopovers that will reward you with marvelous sighting attractions; these include the Kigungu landing site, Muzinga square, Zamugula site and the magnificent Bemba cave in Ziika ecotourism forest site. Explore Buganda beginning with a visit to the Kasubi tombs (royal burial ground) you will be welcomed by the descendants of the king’s wives who take care for the site. After your lunch drive to the platform where the Buganda Kings are crowned at Nagagalabi Buddo coronation site. You will thereafter proceed and visit the Wamala tombs and the Katereke prison ditch. Transfer back for dinner and overnight at Sheraton Hotel

Day 3: City tour

Today after breakfast expect to explore the heart of Kampala. Catch-up with the magnificent ethnographic exhibits and archaeological and natural history displays in the Uganda Museum. Enjoy a visit to the prominent religious buildings in Uganda that include the Bahai Temple the first of it’s kind in Africa, the Martyrs shrines in Namugaongo as well as Namirembe cathedral, Rubaga Cathedral and the Kampala Hindu Temple. Dinner and over night at Sheraton Hotel

Day 4: Transfer-Jinja

You will be picked from your hotel after your early morning breakfast and drive off to Jinja. You will be rewarded with enroute attractions like the magnificent flora and fauna that includes the Mabira forest, Kakira sugarcane and Madhvani tea plantations and also come across the Uganda’s Electricity manufacturing point, the Owen Falls dam. You will proceed for adventure of the Busoga Kingdom with a visit to the Kyabazinga’s palace (King of Busoga Kingdom). Dinner and overnight at Wild waters lodge

Day 5: River Nile experience

This morning embark on the discovery of the source of River Nile. This will reward you with a tour to the Speke Monument. A boat ride on the magnificent Nile River will reward you with spectacular views of the source.   After your lunch a tour to the Bujagali falls will engage you in quad biking along the banks of the Nile where you explore various paths and trails. Day 6: Transfer-Tororo

This morning after breakfast, embark on hilarious experience of climbing the Tororo Rock hill where the highest altitude of the hill is 4865ft. you will be rewarded with a  visit to the ancestral cave and the various Rock paintings. Return back for lunch at the Hotel. In the afternoon, take pleasure from the community entertainment as you get exposed to the cultural performances from the native residents of the area. Day 7: Sipi Falls

After your breakfast, drive off to Mbale for a visit to the superlative Sipi Falls. You will be rewarded with views of a series of the three tall waterfalls plugging along the lower slopes of Mount Elgon. The different trails will expose you to the magnificent flora surrounding these waterfalls as you descend for the exposure. Get in an interactive community walk were you will visit the Bagisu Local leader that will expose you to the different cultural practices and way of life of the natives in the area. Day 8: Transfer-Kampala                

Today you will transfer back to Uganda’s capital Kampala. Enjoy sighting of enroute flora and fauna with an enroute lunch stopover. Dinner and overnight at Sheraton Hotel

Day 9: Transfer-Hoima

Wake up for a transfer to the land of the peaceful. You will be picked from your Hotel after your breakfast and drive off to Hoima via Kiboga. On this trip you will visit the Karuzika palace of the Bunyoro Kingdom which will expose you to their historical cultural heritages. You will further proceed to Bujumbura cathedral for another exciting cultural and religious exploration. Dinner and overnight at Hotel KonTiki

Day 10: In Bunyoro

Adventure further in to the Bunyoro Kingdom. After your breakfast, drive to the royal burial grounds of the kingdom at Mparu Tombs. You will get exposure about the ancient kings and the ancestral descendants of the kingdom. Enjoy entertainment from the natives of the area through their cultural dancers among other activities. Day 11: Transfer-Fortportal

Today after your breakfast drive off from Hoima town for Fortportal. You will have splendorous enroute sightings with a rewarding flora stopover at Mukwano tea estate. A visit to Nyakasura will further expose you to the history of the natives. Transfer for dinner and overnight at Mountains of the moon

Day 12: In Toro Kingdom              

Adventure in to the Toro culture with a visit to the Kingdom palace after your breakfast and get exposed to the historical heritages of the kingdoms with further exposure; visit the royal burial grounds at the Karambi royal tombs. After your lunch embark on a superlative adventure of the magnificent crater lakes in the region. At the end of the day you will be rewarded with sightings of the sumptuousness Toro attractions. Day 13: Transfer-Queen Elizabeth

After your morning coffee, get ready   for a drive to the most diverse park in western Uganda. Have an impressive wildlife game viewing drive upon your entry in the park. Possible sightings may include elephants, buffalos, Giant Forest Hog, lion and perhaps also the leopard. Embark on an afternoon game viewing launch cruise long the Kazinga channel that will further reward you with wildlife sightings. Expect to see the Hippopotamus, waterbucks, crocodiles, warthogs, elephants, buffalos, hyenas and a variey of bird life for example the Blackrumped Buttonqual, African Skimmer, Shoebill, White Naped Pigeon, Forest Flycatcher, Rwenzori Turaco, Chapin’s Flycatcher, Pink Backed Pelicans, Verreaux’s Eagle Owl among others. Day 14: Chimpanzee tracking  

Today, wake up for a hilarious adventure in the jungle as you track the chimpanzees in the Kyambura gorge. Report to the park headquarters immediately after your breakfast where you will be briefed about the chimpanzee tracking code of conduct by UWA official before you set off for tracking in the jungle forest.  After your lunch, visit the Katwe explosion craters that will reward you with views of the Kyemendo crater and Lake Kitagata. Day 15: In Queen Elizabeth

Enjoy a game drive within the park after your breakfast and be rewarded with further exposure of the game in this diverse park. Expect to see lions, buffalos, elephants, Uganda Kob and many more mammals. Embark on a community walk in the later hours after your lunch were you will explore the neighboring communities around the Katunguru gate and Rutoro primary school. You will get exposed to their way of life and culture. Retire for dinner and overnight at Jacana safari Lodge

DAY 16: Transfer-Kabale

Today after an early breakfast drive off to mythical Switzerland of Africa via Kanungu. The drive will reward you with an exploration of the Kibwetere religious site enroute. After your lunch, get on for a cultural rewarding sighting in the Kabale Museum. Expect to see the cultural archaeologies on the resident culture in the area “Bakiga”. You will further visit the Rushoroza and Rugarama Cathedrals that will give you an insight of the ancient missionary visit in the area. Dinner and overnight at White horse inn

Day 17: Transfer-Lake Bunyonyi

This morning, wake up for an early drive to the dammed lake surrounded by splendorous countless hills. Expect to be rewarded with sightings of the birdlife in this haven.
Upon your arrival an interaction with Edirisa community development organization will give you an insight of the community way of life and practices. You may get a chance of interacting with the community members for the true experience of the Bakiga culture. Drive off to Mbarara for dinner and overnight at White Horse Inn

Day 18: In Mbarara

After a yummy breakfast expect to explore the culture in Mbarara. You will visit the Palace of the Ankole Kingdom that will expose you to the historical cultural ornaments and reward you with an insight in to the Ankole culture. Expect to see the long horned cows that are dominants in the region and you may get a chance of digging in to the Bahima culture who are renowned cattle keepers. Day 19: Transfer-Kampala

You will depart the western region of Uganda and drive back to the capital Kampala.
Enjoy enroute sightings of the splendorous flora and fauna where you may be rewarded with sightings of the Royal drum makers with an enroute stopover at Mpambire.  You will have your lunch enroute.  Proceed to Ndere Centre for break taking culture experience, you will be entertained with different cultural dances from various cultures across Uganda and you may get a chance of personally participating in the traditional dances. Retire for dinner at the centre and proceed for an over night stay at Sheraton Hotel

Day 20: Departure

Time allowing after breakfast; embark on souvenir shopping in the Kampala’s cultural shopping centers. Depending on your departure flight time, you will be transferred to Entebbe to catch your flight back home.
