Culture Safari Tour Uganda in 10 Days
Enjoy Culture Safaris in the various destinations in Uganda to experience the livelihoods of the various people from the different tribes of the country. There are numerous tribes with different traditions that a visitor/traveler can adventure.
Day 1; Arrival-Pick Up
After arriving at the Entebbe International Airport, you will be picked up by a company driver/ guide who will transfer you around the various safari destinations in Entebbe like UWEC and the Botanical Gardens.
You will spot various wildlife species as well as birds for example the Crested shrike flycatcher, Lead colored, Swamp flycatcher, African paradise Red bellied and weavers i.e the rare Northern Masked Weaver, Black Necked, Golden Backed, Northern Brown Throated, Grosbeak, Baglafect. Dinner and Overnight at Lake Victoria Serena
Day 2; Transfer-Semliki
Today you will wake up early in the morning have breakfast then transfer on your journey to the western part of Uganda through Mubende. When you get there you will view the prominent Nakayima tree as you slope into the Semliki Valley.
Leave to take on the community visit to learn more about the livelihood of the local people as well as farming practices and their daily routines. Dinner and Overnight Semliki safari lodge
Day 3: HotSprings-Semliki Valley
Today you will wake up early have breakfast then transfer on a guided nature walk through the forest towards the hot springs of Sempaya where you will have an incredible time as you get plantain/ banana and eggs to deep withing the bubbling hot springs.
These will get ready very fast to be eaten. After this exciting experience, you will transfer on a broad walk traversing the hot swamp where you will spot the Sitatunga as well as numerous species of birds.
You will break off for lunch then later on, you will transfer on a community walk to experience the Batwa people of Semliki so as to learn about their traditional ways of living as well as their lives. you can join them to perform traditional Songs, Music and Drama then after, you will tranfer on your ourney to Fort Portal where you will check in to your hotel for Dinner and Overnight Mountains of the Moon Hotel.
Day 4: Explore Fortportal
Adventure in to the Toro culture with a visit to the Kingdom palace after your breakfast and get exposed to the historical heritages of the kingdoms with further exposure; visit the royal burial grounds at the Karambi royal tombs. After your lunch embark on a superlative adventure of the magnificent crater lakes in the region. At the end of the day you will be rewarded with sightings of the sumptuousness Toro attractions. Day 5: In Kibale National Park
This morning, wake up for a hilarious adventure in to this magnificent park. After your breakfast drive of to Kibale and upon your arrival, report to the park headquarters for a briefing session about the chimpanzee tracking code of conduct from a UWA official. Thereafter you will be led in to the misty forest by an armed ranger guide as you experience tracking of the chimpanzees in their natural habitant. You may spot other primates in the trails during the tracking. Possible sightings may include the vervet colobus monkey and the red tailed colobus monkey among others. After your lunch, a walk through the Bigodi Swamp protected by the Bigodi wetland sanctuary rich in vegetation such as wild palms and the dominant papyrus . You will be rewarded with views of spectacular bird species. You may encounter species like the Snowy Headed Robin Cat, Black and White Casqued Hornbill, Emerald Cuckoo and a variety of Weavers, Warblers, Green-breasted pitta and Sunbirds. Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth
After your morning coffee, get ready for a drive to the most diverse park in western Uganda. Have an impressive wildlife game viewing drive upon your entry in the park. Possible sightings may include elephants, buffalos, Giant Forest Hog, lion and perhaps also the leopard. Embark on an afternoon game viewing launch cruise long the Kazinga channel that will further reward you with wildlife sightings. Expect to see the Hippopotamus, waterbucks, crocodiles, warthogs, elephants, buffalos, hyenas and a variey of bird life for example the Blackrumped Buttonqual, African Skimmer, Shoebill, White Naped Pigeon, Forest Flycatcher, Rwenzori Turaco, Chapin’s Flycatcher, Pink Backed Pelicans, Verreaux’s Eagle Owl among others. Day 7: Chimpanzee tracking
Today, wake up for a hilarious adventure in the jungle as you track the chimpanzees in the Kyambura gorge. Report to the park headquarters immediately after your breakfast where you will be briefed about the chimpanzee tracking code of conduct by UWA official before you set off for tracking in the jungle forest. After your lunch, visit the Katwe explosion craters that will reward you with views of the Kyemendo crater and Lake Kitagata. Dinner and overnight in your lodge at Jacana safari Lodge
Day 8: Transfer to Lake Mburo
Today after your breakfast, leave Queen Elizabeth for the acacia rangelands of the Ankole Kingdom in the rift’s eastern hinterland in Lake Mburo National Park. Expect to see the scenic and varied landscape of this savanna park whereby the western side is composed of the grassy escarpment while the Eastern margin with Rock Kopjes. Explore the park’s endemics (Impalas, Burchell’s zebra and Eland) in a game viewing drive in the park. After your lunch, embark on a boat ride along Lake Mburo and you will be rewarded with various sightings of species like waterbucks, reedbucks, hippos, crocodiles, common duiker, oribi, buffalo among others. Day 9: Adventure Ankole
This morning head off for another lifetime experience in the western part of Uganda as you explore the Ankole Culture. After a yummy breakfast expect to explore the culture in Mbarara. You will visit the Palace of the Ankole Kingdom that will expose you to the historical cultural ornaments and reward you with an insight in to the Ankole culture. Expect to see the long horned cows that are dominants in the region and you may get a chance of digging in to the Bahima culture who are renowned cattle keepers. Day 10: Departure
Today after your breakfast, leave the western region and drive back to Kampala with an enroute lunch. You have a stopover in Kayabwe where you will experience being both in the northern and southern hemisphere at the EQUATOR. You may also embark on souvenir shopping at this spot. Thereafter proceed to Kampala and depending on your departure flight schedule, you may be transferred to Entebbe to catch up with your flight back home.
