Mountain Rwenzori National Park, Climbing Safari Tours in Uganda

Mountain Rwenzori National park is located in the Rwenzori Mountains covering an area of 1,000 km2 (386 sq mi) with the highest peak/ point in Uganda Margherita Peak, waterfalls, glaciers and lakes.

It is situated in the South Western part of Uganda East of the Great East African Rift Valley bordering the Democratic Republic of Congo and Virunga National Park. It spans across three different districts i.e Bundibugyo, Kabarole and Kasese.

The Most prominent Safari Attraction in the park is Mountain Rwenzori which spans across the Ugandan Border and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Mountain elevates to 5,109 metres (16,762 ft) with various snow capped Peaks and glaciers which a source of River Nile.

How to Get to Mountain Rwenzori National Park

Mountain Rwenzori National Park can be accessed by use of both Road and Air depending on the taste and preferences of the traveler.

By Road;

Travelers will transfer from Kampala to the South Western Part of Uganda at Mountain Rwenzori and those interested in hiking to the top of the Mountain have numerous trails they can follow and these include; The Nyakalengija Central Circuit and Kilembe Trail which are located near Kasese town while the third Nature walk trail head is at Kazingo near Fort Portal town in Kabarole District.

By Air;

Mountain Rwenzori National Park can also be accessed by Air by boarding a Charter Flight from Entebbe International Airport/ Kajjansi Airstrip to Kasese Airfield where you will be picked up to transfer to the Park.
