The  16 Days Chimpanzee, Gorilla Trekking & Wildlife Tour takes you to Murchison Falls National Park, Semliki National Park, Kibale Forest National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Forest National Park, Lake Bunyonyi and Lake Mburo National Park.

Detailed Itinerary of the 16 Days Uganda Chimps, Gorillas & Wildlife Safari

Day 1: Birding at Entebbe Botanical Gardens

On this Day, you drop at the Entebbe International Airport then after being welcomed by a driver guide who transfers to the Entebbe Botanical Gardens where you watch various bird species. Break off for lunch then proceed to UWEC then later you transfer to the hotel for Dinner and Overnight. Lake Victoria Serena hotel.

Day 2: Transfer to Jinja Town

After breakfast embark on to journey to Jinja Town watching the beautiful views of flora and fauna and visit the Mabira Forest shortly after continue to Jinja Town. On arrival at Jinja, continue to enjoy White Water Rafting along River Nile. After White Water Rafting proceeds back to Kampala. Dinner and Overnight. Cassia Lodge Buziga.

Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park

Today enjoy breakfast and go to Murchison Falls National Park following the Kampala -Gulu Highway to briefly stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. After you proceed to Murchison Falls National Park and when here you continue to the Top of the Falls where you watch the rainbow descend deep down into the vigorous waterfalls. After you go to the lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Pakuba Safari Lodge.

Day 4: Game Drive & Boat Cruise

Have early breakfast at 6:30 am then later continue to enjoy a Game Drive along the numerous tracks in the park watching wildlife animals wander around their natural vegetation habitat. After Game Drive, break off for lunch and later transfer for a boat cruise along Victoria Nile where you watch hippos and crocodiles beneath the waters. Dinner and Overnight at Pakuba Safari Lodge.

Day 5: Transfer to Semliki National Park

Today take breakfast and later proceed to Semliki National Park Bundibugyo a journey that offers you views of the green vegetation terrain, birds and lunch. You reach Semliki National Park and transfer to check-in your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Semliki Safari Lodge.

Day 6: Bird Watching in Semliki National Park

Wake up early at 6:30 am and transfer into the forest where you watch various birds fly around their natural vegetation habitat. The birds include; Thighed Sparrow Hawk, Crested francolin and Helmet Guinea fowl, Broad-billed Roller, Green Wood-hoopoe, African Moustached Warbler, Marsh Tchagra, Violet-backed, the rapacious Red-necked Falcon. Go for lunch then later proceed to the Sempaya Hot springs where you view birds like the crepusuilar Flecked Nigh jar, Black Shoulder Nightjar, and African Wood. Dinner and Overnight. Day 7: Kibale Forest National Park

Have breakfast and go to Kibale Forest National Park en route watching the green terrain vegetation, birds and Mountain Rwenzori at a distance. lunch is on the way the continue to visit the Bunyaruguru Crater Region and later Kibale Forest National Park. Dinner and Overnight. Kibale Forest Camp.

Day 8: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest National Park

On this Day you are required to get up early at 6:30 am have breakfast then proceed to the headquarters for a briefing on conduct when in the presence of the Chimpanzees then later in groups of 8 with a park ranger enter the forest to trek the Chimpanzees for 2-4 hours. You later meet the Chimpanzees and take various photos to keep for memories. Return to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Kibale Forest Camp.

Day 9: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Today you are going to Queen Elizabeth National Park and en route have lunch. Proceed on the journey watching Mountain Rwenzori at a distance, birds as well as wildlife. Continue to the Park and check in at your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Jacana Safari lodge.

Day 10: Game Drive and Boat Cruise

Get up have breakfast then continue to the park to enjoy a Game Drive watching wildlife wander around the tracks in the park. Wildlife you watch includes; elephants, lions, leopard’s kob, oribi giant forest hog, jackals, Defassa Waterbucks, hyenas, Uganda Kobs, Lions, leopards etc. When finished with Game Drive, continue for a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel where you view schools of hippos and crocodiles beneath the waters. Day 11: Bwindi Forest National Park

Bwindi Forest National Park is your ideal destination today so enjoy an early breakfast then proceed on the journey to the South West. The journey takes you 4 to 6 hours via the Ishasha Sector where you might watch the tree-climbing lions if lucky. On arrival at Park, check in the lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Buhoma Lodge.

Day 12: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest National Park          

Gorilla Trekking Day is here, so breakfast is at 6:30 am then you continue to the park headquarters for a briefing on conduct around the Gorillas then after in groups of 8 with a park ranger, you enter the forest to trek the Gorillas for 3-5 hours and on finding them an hour is allowed in their presence. Day 13: Lake Bunyonyi

Lake Bunyonyi is your ultimate destination today after breakfast, embark on the transfer to Lake Bunyonyi and en route enjoy views of the green terrain vegetation, birds and cattle. After a while, you reach the lake and proceed to canoe to the nearby Islands at a distance. When finished, have Dinner and Overnight. Bunyonyi Overland Resort.

Day 14: Ruvuma Swamp

This morning after your breakfast take pleasure in a ride to the northern tip of Bunyonyi. You will be rewarded with sightings of the vast papyrus expanses of the Ruvuma Swamp. You may also spot a variety of birds endemic to this habitat like the papyrus gonolek, papyrus canary and papyrus yellow warbler among other bird species.

In the later hours of the day transfer to Lake Mburo National park where you may spot animals like the beautiful impalas, cape buffalos, zebras, oribis, elands and topi and many more on a game drive upon your entry. Dinner and overnight at Arcadia cottages

Day 15: Game Drive and Birding in Lake Mburo National Park

Embark on a morning game drive through the park vicinities and later return to the lodge for breakfast. Expect to see the elands, oribi, zebras, cape buffalos and the beautiful impala with several acacia-associated and water birds that may include the Papyrus gonolek, Brown-faced lapwings, Carruthers cisticolas, the extraordinary White winged Warbler and Bare-faced Go-away bird and many more.

After your lunch embark on a boat ride on Lake Mburo where you will be rewarded with sightings of the rich bird life with hippos as they drink on the banks of the lake among other animals. Rwakobo Rock Lodge.

Day 16: Transfer to Kampala and Departure

This morning you will have the privilege to go for a guided nature walk one of its kind in all of Uganda’s parks on foot. This will walk to the salt lick area where there is a blind observatory animal that can allow you to see more than four different animal species licking salt from the salty soils. Thereafter drive back to Kampala with an en-route lunch.

Dinner and overnight at Cassia Lodge Buziga. You can as well as transfer to the Entebbe International Airport to board your flight back Home.
