20 Days Luxury Wildlife Safari (Luxury Safaris and Tours in Uganda)

Day 1: Entebbe Botanical Gardens

You will be picked from your hotel and  proceed to Entebbe Botanical gardens and enjoy sightings of various bird life on the lake shores, possible sightings may include orange tufted, red chested Sunbirds, orange weaver, slender-billed, Northern Brown –throated, yellow backed, Jackson’s Golden –backed, Black-headed, Vieillot’s black weavers, you may also spot the long tailed Cormorant, Common Squacco and black-headed herons, hamerkop, African Open-billed Stork, yellow billed duck, Grey headed gull, various terns, giant and pied Kingfishers and swamp Flycatcher on the lake and around it’s shores. Thereafter you will transfer for dinner and overnight stay at Cassia Lodge Buziga

Day 2: Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Today after your morning breakfast you will be picked from your hotel in Kampala by your driver guide and set off for the rhino sanctuary in Masindi the gateway to Murchison falls. This sanctuary lies in the south of Kafu Bridge-Masindi junction. Expect to see the rhinos preserved at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in the efforts of restoring their population in Uganda.  Dinner and overnight at Amuka Safari Lodge.

Day 3:  Chimpanzee Tracking at Murchison Falls National Park

After our breakfast, you will leave the sanctuary and head to Murchison Falls National Park. Upon your arrival in the park, you will proceed directly to the park head quarters where you will be briefed about the chimpanzee trackers code of conduct by a UWA official. Set off for Kaniyo Pabidi thereafter under the guidance of an armed ranger for chimpanzee tracking.

Possible other sightings on this trail may include other primate like the Black and white colobus monkey, red tailed monkeys among others. After your lunch you will drive to the magnificent top of the falls and marvel around the robust Nile for a wondrous lifetime experience. Transfer for dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge.

Day 4: Game Drive-boat Cruise in Murchison Falls National Park

After your breakfast you will drive toward the Albert Nile for a game viewing drive on the northern bank of the Nile River where you will get exposed to its habitant species Possible sightings on this trip may include the Rothschild Giraffe, Elephant, Jackson Hartebeest, Lions, Waterbucks and a variety of Savannah woodland birds.

After your lunch you will enjoy an afternoon Launch cruise along the Victoria Nile. Expect hippos and crocodiles along the River banks as you take this ride to the bottom of the falls.  Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge.

Day 5: Kibale Forest National Park

Head off from Murchison Falls after an early breakfast to Fort Portal, the journey will take you through the stunning scenery of Fortportal where you will enjoy the wonderful background view of the Rwenzori Mountains of the moon.

You will have an enroute lunch and thereafter proceed to Kibale National park with superlative diverse primates in East Africa. Dinner and overnight at Kibale Forest Camp.
 

Day 6: Guided Nature Walk at Kibale Forest National Park

After your break fast relish a guided nature walk in the misty tropical forest where you will trace various primates like the  L’Hoest’ monkeys, red colobus monkey, blue monkeys, black and white colobus monkey, red-tailed monkeys and the grey-cheeked mangabeys among others.

After your lunch you will take a scenic drive to the Crater Lake region where you will get a chance of enjoying the scenery of various Crater Lakes. Dinner and overnight at Kibale Forest Camp.

Day 7:  Queen Elizabeth National Park

Today you will shift to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will take a game drive as you enter the park. This drive will reward you with possible views of species like elephants, Kobs, buffalos, lions, hyenas, antelopes among others.

After your lunch you will take a launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural channel between Lake Edward and George. This trip will reward you will expose you to the highest concentration of Hippos in Africa besides the birdlife of both typical and migrants.

Day 8: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast you will drive through the grassland area, where you will come across an amazing gorge of tropical rainforest. Ramble into Kyambura River Gorge for an astonishing lifetime experience hiking chimpanzees. You will get exposed to ravishing river valley a home to may butterflies and birds in the park.

After your lunch you will have a game drive through Ishasha sector to encounter the tree climbing lions as they rest in the fig trees. Thereafter proceed to Lake Bunyonyi where you will enjoy a boat ride on the lake shore near Rutinda that may reward you with sightings of various water species that may include the water birds and many more. Day 9: Bwindi Forest National Park

Today after your morning breakfast, you will take a boat back to the shores and set off for a drive to Bwindi Forest National Park. Dinner and over night at Engagi Lodge.

Day 10: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest National Park

The time taken to encounter these peaceful primates is unpredictable. Nevertheless, at the end of the day, it is very appealing. Return to your lodge for dinner and over night at Engagi Lodge.

Day 11: Lake Mburo National Park

Leave Bwindi for Lake Mburo in the early morning after your breakfast. Enjoy sightings of the beautiful scenery enroute with an enroute lunch stopover.
Upon your arrival in the park embark on evening boat ride on Lake Mburo that will reward you with spectacular sighting of birdlife besides the habitant wildlife species. Possible sightings on the trip may include a variety of animal species as they drink on the lake shores, for example the hippo, and crocodile. However sightings of the Papyrus gonolek, blue headed coucal, southern ground hornbill and mosque swallow may be possible. Transfer for dinner and overnight at Arcadia cottages.

Day 12: Transfer to Buggala Island

Today you will take pleasure in a morning game drive in the park and catch-up with the early raisers. Sightings of the zebras, topes, elephants, elands, impalas, buffalos and antelope may be possible. Thereafter your breakfast, you will set off for Entebbe to catch up with a boat ride for a transfer to Buggala.

Enjoy sightings of the beautiful beaches and hilly landscape upon your arrival on the magnificent Island.
In the later evening, experience birding of the migrant and residential bird life of the island. Expect to spot the eagles, hammerheads, hornbills and kingfishers making it perfect for a tropical and exotic first experience. Dinner and overnight stay at Mirembe Resort Beach.

Day 13: At Bugala Island

This morning after your breakfast you will take a boat ride to Bukasa Island along Lake Victoria. You will be rewarded with splendorous views of the bird species on the water and on the shores too.

You will also encounter magnificent scenic views of the unique waterfalls and stones. Laze around the beach after a whole days ride on the beautiful lake or embark on optional sport fishing. Transfer back for dinner and overnight at Mirembe Resort Beach.

Day 14: Buggala Island

Today you will go for a forest walk after your breakfast in search for the animal habitants on this beautiful misty Island forest. Return back to your lodge for lunch.

Embark on an afternoon canoe ride after your lunch to the Ssese Island. A camp fire will be arranged for you on this last evening on the Island before your retire for dinner and over night at the Lodge.

Day 15: Transfer to Jinja

This morning you will leave the resort early morning after your break fast to catch-up with a ferry transfer back Entebbe. Leave Entebbe and drive to Jinja with a detour to the Sezibwa falls that mythically believed to be a human born river. Thereafter you will proceed to Jinja with the green scenery view of tea plantations and sugarcane plantations.

By pass the Owen falls dams Uganda’s electricity manufacturing point. After your lunch you will visit the source of the Nile and thereafter proceed to Bujagali falls to view the spectacular rapids on the river Nile just a few kilometers from the source. Dinner and over night at Jinja Nile resort.

Day 16: Rafting

After your breakfast drive to the Nile River for a hilarious whole day life time experience. You will receive a briefing before heading off 15kms down river to the start point of the days rafting experience. Rafting is a physical activity so make sure you eat up big to help keep your energy levels up throughout the day.

Once down at the river’s edge, you will receive a detailed safety briefing, before launching into the river for a last bit of practical instruction as you float down the pool. Overtime kicks off with a bang, as we maneuver through the rocks and negotiate the 12ft drop. Enjoy the ride on the Nile with rewards of spectacular scenery views. Day 17: Birding

After your breakfast, you will leave Jinja early morning for an exciting experience of birding in the largest standing indigenous forest in the central Uganda the bird haven of Mabira Forest. Expect to see birds like the yellow whiskered Greenbul, White spotted Fluff tail, Toro Greenbul, Forest Robin, Buff spotted Woodpecker, Chin spot Batis, Banded Wattle Eye, Yellow mantled,  Brown capped, Black Billed, Weyn’s Weavers, Purple headed Starling, Violet backed Starling and many more charming species.  After the walk through the forest you will return to Kampala. Dinner and overnight at Cassia Lodge Buziga.

Day 18:  Kampala City tour

After your breakfast you will embark on a city tour in Uganda’s capital Kampala. Expect to explore the Uganda Museum known to be the oldest in East Africa, the mystical Kabaka’s lake, Namugongo shrines among other sites.

After your lunch you will proceed to the home of 40 orphaned chimpanzees in Ngamba Island sanctuary and catch up with the interactive unique experience of viewing the chimpanzees’ in their natural environment. You may engage in the optional infant integration experience of the chimpanzees on the island or take a forest walk and have an encounter with the interactive primates on the island. Transfer for dinner and overnight at Ngamba Island Tented Camp.     

Day 19: On Ngamba Island              

After your break fast, be part of the memorable interactive experience of care giving given to the chimpanzees’ in their morning feeding time. After your lunch return to the main land landing site for your transfer back to Entebbe. Take pleasure in visiting the Uganda Wild life Education Centre were you will further be exposed to the rescued wildlife. Transfer for dinner and overnight at Imperial Golf View Hotel.

Day 20: Departure -Entebbe

After you breakfast have an optional souvenir shopping in the Entebbe craft shops before your transfer to the Airport to catch-up with your flight back home. All depending on your departure flight details.
